Shimmer Women Athletes presents the main event match from the Vol. 3 tapings as Sara Del Ray took on the small, but fierce and spunky Daizee Haze. If you remember, it came down to Del Ray and Haze as the last two women in the four way match that took place at Shimmer Vol. 2, so Haze was out looking for a little payback with this match.
With the height, weight and strength advantage Del Ray possessed, Haze certainly had her work cut out for her, but if anyone has the talent, drive and ambition to pull out a win, it is most definitely Daizee Haze. In some instances, being smaller and lighter worked more towards Haze’s advantage. When Del Ray had Haze in a wrist lock, Haze rolled out and “nipped up” and was able to reverse the wrist lock onto Del Ray. When Del Ray tried to compete with Haze’s reversal, she fell a little short. She wasn’t able to “nip up” and just flopped around like a fish which allowed Haze to continue to work over her wrist and set up her next move.
At one point when the two were battling in a test of strength, Del Ray turned Haze around; with their hands still locked trapping her in Japanese strangle hold. Haze fell to her knees with Del Ray still holding on to the strangle hold. Del Ray then fell back and yanked Haze with her, stretching and bending her back across her knees still strangling her. Just as it looked like Haze may tap out, she dug down deep and was able to do a reverse somersault over Del Ray, hands still locked, and reversed the strangle hold onto Del Ray.
This was a fantastic and very entertaining match. Both of these women are extremely talented and truly gifted in the ring. Haze is such a resilient fighter that her size disadvantage had little effect on the match, but Del Ray is such an awesome wrestler that it wouldn’t matter if Haze weighed 50 or 500 pounds. Excellent match.
