Bakersfield fans were excited to see Raven wrestle live to say the least. Having just captured the NWA Heavyweight Championship made this night even more memorable. Raven came out from behind the curtains wielding an oversized boxing glove to the delight of the fans. Kafu had his own help with the aid of his manager, the Godfather of APW Roland Alexander, and his personal referee Blanka.
Before the match could really begin Alexander got on the mic and degraded Raven for bringing the boxing glove into the ring saying he was an insult to the professional wrestling industry. Raven then addressed the crown and informed everyone that the match would be “Raven’s Rules.”
Raven immediately threw the big Brazilian beast to the outside of the ring. Kafu quickly rolled back in; it was clear Kafu didn’t want to engage on the outside of the ring where Raven would be able to use any weapons he could find in his effort to demolish him. Eventually both were brawling with each other all over the building. Raven smashed Kafu into the steel hanger doors numerous times.
Who’s had would be raised in the end? How much of an advantage would Raven have with his “Raven’s Rules” with Alexander on the outside of the ring and Blanka on the inside? How much violence would erupt this night in Bakersfield? Find out now.
