Very good match, and easily best of the night. Punk came out to his old “Ole!” song. Prazak on commentary said Punk requested his final two IWA-MS matches be against Delirious and Sydal. They traded quick reversals and avoided each other’s signature moves. Nice. Sydal hit a dropsault at 3:30, then his snap headscissors takedown, and a hurricanrana to the floor. They traded hard chops.
Punk hit a swinging backbreaker over his knee. OUCH. Punk hit blows to the back and a basement dropkick to the head, and he was in charge. He hit some knee strikes to Sydals back, then a Gory Special at 9:00. Punk bent Sydal backward over his knee. Good intensity here. Punk went for a top-rope superplex, but Sydal twisted in mid air and landed on top… and both men were down. Sydal hit a flying forearm and a hard enziguri at 12:00, then a swinging DDT for a nearfall. Punk hit a clothesline for a nearfall.
Sydal hit his floatover Famouser legdrop for a nearfall, then a standing moonsault for a believable nearfall at 15:00. Sydal missed his Shooting Star Press, but he landed on his feet. Punk nailed a Shining Wizard/running knee, and he applied an Anaconda Vice/head & arm submission hold, but Sydal reached the ropes. They fought on the top rope, and Sydal blocked the Pepsi Plunge. Instead, Punk hit a top-rope bodyslam for the pin.
